Commitment to the collective strength
Nurses’ political and advocacy activity strives to improve family and patient-centered healthcare outcomes. Nurses may strengthen their ability to influence policy and practice by working together to achieve positive results in all settings. According to Warner (2003), collective strength is a robust political competency that will guarantee nurses press for policies and endure all difficulties to ensure patients and their families access the finest healthcare possible. Nurses’ voices are louder when they are part of a larger group (Warner, 2003). They also provide advocacy advice and develop more solid recommendations that the political class cannot ignore. Commitment to Organizations Essay
By joining new nursing professional organizations in my state and country, I intend to demonstrate my dedication to collective strength. I’m currently a member of AANP, Florida Nurses Coalition, and ANA, which provide opportunities for registered nurses to participate in policy creation. According to studies, nurses’ participation in policy problems gets hampered by a lack of collectiveness. My voice will be more heard if I join professional groups with other nurses because I will have an association behind me, and our voices will be loud.
I’m also excited to begin implementing collective strength at my company. I have tried to get involved in politics for the past few years, throw some of my efforts have paid off, most of them have failed. I recognized that It’s critical to engage in collective political advocacy to be more effective. My strategy includes collaborating with my coworkers to advocate for healthcare reform. It also implies that we band together to advocate for our common interests and make our voices and proposals more persuasive. Working together makes it more accessible to develop a magnet status that will attract the hand of the politicians to improve healthcare in the community.
