Critiquing a Change Effort Discussion

Critiquing a Change Effort Discussion

As a nurse leader, you need to have the skills and knowledge to collaborate and communicate with those who plan for and manage change. This capacity is valuable in any health care setting and for many different types of change. Furthermore, it is essential to be able to evaluate a change effort and determine if it is promoting improved outcomes and making a positive difference within the department or unit, or for the organization as a whole. Assignment 2: The Pathophysiology of Disorders

Assignment 2: The Pathophysiology of Disorders

During the last 5 weeks, you have explored various body systems: neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, and hematological. These four systems work together along with other body systems to complete a myriad of functions. For this reason, when disorders occur within one body system, it can create potentially devastating effects throughout the entire body. For instance, Parkinson’s disease is a disorder of the central nervous system, yet its alterations actually affect multiple body systems from the cardiovascular system to the gastrointestinal system. In this Assignment, you examine alterations associated with disorders, as well as the impact of the alterations on multiple body systems. Assignment 2: The Pathophysiology of Disorders

During my previous clinicals, I have noticed providers complaining about different coding and billing issues. The most common complaint was not having enough data. If the provider fails to provide enough information, like not linking the diagnosis to the right CPT code then the payer may deny the transaction or create a delay. Another common issue includes having to uncode if the patient is billed for the wrong services. Many other errors like telemedicine coding errors, missing or incorrect information and incorrect procedure codes. Although there are many possible errors, there is also multiple ways to avoid them. It is the providers job to prevent those errors (Grant-Kels, Kim, & Graff, 2016).

A National Provider Identifier is a unique 10-digit number given to healthcare providers by Medicare and Medicaid services. This NPI number was brough around 1996 under HIPAA. It was then in 2006 when it became mostly used. This allows the provider to identify themselves in transactions or medical correspondence. The provider will carry this unique code throughout their career to any practice that they join (Adams, Norman, & Burroughs, 2020). This is not a confidential number since anyone can look up an NPI number in the registry. Finally, in order to obtain one, the provider must apply under the NPPES website.  Addressing medical coding and billing

Planning a Job Search Worksheet

Planning a Job Search Worksheet

Instructions:

As discussed in Unit 6, there are numerous approaches to a job search. The key is to find the ones that work for you. The first step is to determine where the opportunities exist in your career field. While a graduate with a BSN (nursing) may be able to submit a job application to a hospital or clinic and find a job, this will likely not work for someone with a business or IT degree. In the Unit 5 assessment, you were required to begin work identifying your network, might you find a job through your contacts? Consider the job search approaches using the hidden and published job market; chose one approach from each and describe how you could use it to find your perfect job.
