Wellness Program Paper

Develop a Wellness Program Essay with a holistic approach for the older adult you identified, using resources available in your community (Thomasville, GA). Discuss how this approach will prove an optimum level of well-being.

Citations should conform to APA guidelines.

Teleadult program has been proposed as a wellness program that makes it conceivable for older adults to access health care in the face of outwardly overwhelming obstructions that comprise isolation, limited movement, and being invalids. The program makes use of phone messaging services to a dedicated site that has medical personnel on standby to offer health care advice to include taking vital readings at regular intervals to be accompanied by customized questions and graphics. In this case, the program would involve using communication technologies to expedite healthcare delivery without regard for distance Wellness Program Essay. This occurs even as communication between medical personnel and the population is enabled. For that matter, the program assigns priority to advance treatment, prevention and ensuring wellness. In fact, the program would be applied to carry out patient evaluation, offer interventions (health and psychological), caregiver education, and real-time monitoring of the patients. This occurs even as it creates a feedback mechanism that guarantees an efficient flow of information between the medical personnel and patient (Harris, 2015). The program can be considered as a multidimensional treatment model that focuses on older adults who are homebound and frail. It evaluates issues that influence the quality of care and their connection with care outcomes thus guaranteeing that the population receives the recommended care with enhanced participation from all stakeholders. Even as the program is applied, a likely obstacle to its implementation is meaningful use by the older adult population. The obstacle will be preempted through offering detailed tutorials to the population explaining what the program entails before its implementation. Also, verbal prompts would be included to allow the patient make good use of the program (Harris, 2015). In this respect, Teleadult program is a wellness program that presents an opportunity for older adults to addresses the communication concerns of health care delivery. Wellness Program Essay.

What ethical impact does the issue have on direct patient care? Please provide specific examples.

Describe any law or legal issue surrounding this policy issue.
Decide how this policy would affect your specific role as an advanced practice nurse.
Describe any changes you would make to your selected health policy issue. Please provide rationale for each cited change.

Note: You should use current literature (material published within the past seven years unless it is seminal works on the topic or by the author) to support your position Nursing advocacy essay.

Nursing advocacy

Nursing advocacy is believed to be the pillar of change in the healthcare system. Nurses advocate for the communities, their workplaces and their patients which promotes change in the system. The nurses’ concerns as well as the patients’ challenges are shared by federal candidates through the support of the American Nurses Association Political Action Committee (ANA-PAC) (Walker et al., 2015).

Political action by nurses has direct impacts on patient care. It advocates for the resolution of patients challenges such as informed decision-making that is supported by autonomy (Choi, 2015). For instance, the political advocacy action translates medical terms which help the patients understand their health conditions and treatment options thus making ethical decisions. Additionally, it brings about the improvement of the healthcare quality delivery through provision of the necessary equipment, technologies and services by the government (Peltzer et al., 2016) Nursing advocacy essay. For example, nurses advocate for introduction of new medical technologies and machinery that help in the improvement of patient conditions in the emergency unit or increase in the number of equipment used for emergency patient cases.

The state and federal laws address nursing advocacy. The Nurse practice Act regulates the nursing practice and balances the protection of public health responsibility and the practicing rights of the nurses (Watson & O’Connor, 2017). This allows nurses to advocate for the public wellness as well as their own practice rights. Advocacy improves my nursing roles in that it provides a platform to air my concerns and as well as those of my patients. Nursing advocacy essay the change that I would make on the advocacy representation is that all nursing specialist be represented in the advocacy action to improve interdisciplinary collaboration during the resolution of healthcare problems affecting both the nurses and the patients.

Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation Essay

Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation Essay

Professional Context

In the era of health care reform, many of the laws and policies set by government at the local, state, and federal levels have specific performance benchmarks related to care delivery outcomes that organizations need to achieve. It is critical for organizational success that the interprofessional care delivery team to be able to understand reports and dashboards that display the metrics related to performance and compliance benchmarks.

Scenario

This assignment can be based on the dashboard presented in the Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation simulation. The writing that you did as part of that simulation could serve as a starting point to build upon for this assignment, or you may instead choose another setting from your professional practice. (Bear in mind that if you choose to use another setting for this assignment, you will need to include the health care setting size and its specific type of care delivery, as well as diversity, ethnicity, and socioeconomic demographics for the population served by your chosen organization or setting.) Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation
Instructions

Review the simulation dashboard, as well as relevant local, state, and federal law and policy. Consider the metrics that are falling short of the prescribed benchmarks. For this assignment, you will create a report for a senior leader that communicates your evaluation of the current state of organizational performance. You will also advocate for a metric to target improvement and explain its potential to improve the overall quality of the care and performance of the organization or team relevant to the dashboard.
If you have a sophisticated understanding of dashboards that are relevant to your own personal practice, you may use a hypothetical dashboard from that setting (be sure your data complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information) Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation. These hypothetical dashboards must present at least four different metrics, of which at least two must be underperforming the relevant benchmark set forth by a federal, state, or local policy or law. Along with the dashboard, you should also provide a brief description of the health care organization that the dashboard is reporting on, including the information noted above.

ORDER   A PLAGIARISM FREE PAPER   NOW

Structure your report so that it will be easy for a colleague or supervisor to locate the information they need. You will want to be sure that you are citing relevant local, state, or federal health care policies or laws when evaluating metric performance toward benchmarks. Additionally, cite 2–4 outside sources to support your analysis of challenges, evaluation of potential for improvement, and your advocacy for ethical action.
While creating your report it is important to address the following. Note: The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide. Be sure your report is, at minimum, addressing each of the bullets. You may also want to read the Guiding Questions: Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation (linked in Resources) and review the Dashboard Benchmark Evaluations Scoring Guide to better understand how each criterion will be assessed:
Evaluate dashboard metrics with regard to benchmarks set by local, state, or federal health care policies or laws.
Analyze challenges that meeting prescribed benchmarks can pose for a heath care organization or an interprofessional team.
Evaluate a benchmark underperformance in a heath care organization or an interprofessional team that has the potential for greatly improving overall quality or performance Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation.
Advocate for ethical action in addressing a benchmark underperformance, directed toward an appropriate group of stakeholders.
Communicate evaluation and analysis in a professional and effective manner, writing content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.
Integrate relevant sources to support arguments, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.
Submission Requirements

Length of report: 2–4 double-spaced, typed pages. Your report should be succinct yet substantive.
Please include a title page and a reference list in addition to your 2–4 page report.
Number of references: Cite a minimum of 2–4 sources of scholarly, professional, or policy evidence to support your analysis and advocacy.
APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style.

Operant Conditioning Essay

Operant conditioning is defined as a “method of learning normally attributed to B.F. Skinner, where the consequences of a response determine the probability of it being repeated. Through operant conditioning behavior which is reinforced (rewarded) will likely be repeated, and behavior which is punished will occur less frequently (McLeod, 2018)”.  An operant behavior is when a behavior is determined by past consequences, i.e. when I was a child, I knew there were consequences when I stayed up past my bedtime, such as a restriction on any privileges I had Operant Conditioning Essay.

“Operant conditioning refers to the process and selective effects of consequences on behavior (Cooper, et. al., 2020)”.  There are four types of operant conditioning, positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment.  Positive punishment is where an adverse consequence is used to elicit a weaker reaction or response. An example of this from my childhood would be when we were made to stand in the corner as a punishment for bad behavior. Negative punishment is where you remove something after a behavior occurs. An example of this from my childhood would be being grounded from watching TV after a behavior occurs.  In a positive punishment situation, the punishment is derived from an application of something, i.e. standing in the corner.  In a negative punishment situation, the punishment is derived from the removal of something, i.e. the ability to watch TV. Operant Conditioning Essay

Positive reinforcers are where you are rewarded for good behavior or a good job.  When I was a child, I received money for making the “A” honor roll.  I equated studying and doing well in school with this reward of money and I knew that the better my grades were, the more money I would receive.  Negative reinforcers “involve the removal of an unfavorable events or outcomes after the display of a behavior (Cherry, 2020)”.  I’m very faired skinned and burn easily in the sun.  An example of a negative reinforcement would be applying sunscreen before spending time in the sun. By applying sunscreen, I’m hoping to circumvent getting sunburned while outside.

In my current life, I have 9 rescue cats, varying in age from 16 years of age to 1 year of age.  I have multiple cat boxes in my home.  These cat boxes get cleaned at least twice a day as I detest the smell of a cat box.  Also, I religiously use cat box deodorizer and each room in my house has one of those automatic air fresheners that spray every 9 minutes.  I know, and have learned the hard way, that if I don’t follow my daily schedule of cleaning the boxes at least twice a day and using the deodorizer at each cleaning, you will be able to detect the smell of the cat boxes.  99.9% of the time, you would never know I had cats in my home, unless you visually saw them.  If I don’t stick to my daily regime, you would quickly know that cats are in my home.  A negative reinforcer here would be that by cleaning the boxes multiple times a day, I’m preventing the cat odor from being detectable in my home Operant Conditioning Essay.

Discussion: Operant Conditioning

Throughout your life, you have been conditioned to respond to certain stimuli in certain ways. This is known as operant conditioning. Operant conditioning is the type of learning in which the consequences of a behavior influence whether an individual will act in the same way in the future.

Even if there was not a clear behavior plan, the principles of operant conditioning have helped shape your life. In operant conditioning, you learn the relationship between your own behavior and reinforcing or punishing consequences from your environment. You may also learn conditions (antecedents) where consequences are more or less likely to occur Operant Conditioning Essay.

For this Discussion, you will analyze the fundamental principles of operant conditioning and how it has impacted your life. Additionally, you analyze how behavioral psychological theory (e.g., antecedents, reinforcements, punishment) is applied to condition behavior. As you read this week’s Learning Resources, try to identify times in your life when operant conditioning clearly played a part in your learning.

To Prepare

  • Consider how terminology of operant conditioning relates to specific behaviors.
  • Think about how your parents reinforced or punished you when you were growing up, and how those acts influenced how you behaved.
  • Consider how situations in your life today contribute to your behavior. Are you more or less likely to do something when a certain person is around?
  • Review the interactive media in the Learning Resources, “Operant Conditioning Terms.”

The example of operant conditioning that resonates with me the most is the positive reinforcement of receiving a paycheck. Operant conditioning describes that behavior is influenced by the consequence that directly follows the behavior (Staddon & Cerutti, 2003). The paycheck positively reinforces the behavior of going to work everyday because it is the presentation of a positively reinforcing stimulus directly following the behavior that occurred (Sidman, 2006, p. 135). The consequence of collecting a check strengthens or reinforces the behavior of working. The behavior of going to work in an effort to collect money is maintained by positive reinforcement. The motivation for working is that adults need money in order to sustain life. By earning money, that completes the motivation. The antecedent would be the need for money or the need for another paycheck, therefore, people engage in the target behavior of going to work

Case Study: Victoria Health – Digitizing Health

After evaluating various platforms, Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (Vic Health) finally decided to adopt a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for its future IT infrastructure. Vic Health was impressed with your Template based, Reference Architecture approach set out in your Task 1 Report and has accepted your recommendations regarding Application and Service Integration. However, Vic Health Executives would like to gain a deeper understanding of: Case Study: Victoria Health – Digitizing Health

– Computing and storage infrastructure design,
– Information integration, and
– Technologies behind your recommendation regarding Application and Service Integration and have asked for a small specific demonstration of these technologies along with a brief explanation of the concepts and principles of how it works.

There are 2 parts to this Assignment:

Part 1 – Integration Demo

Because Vic Health have medical practice related applications in many health practices around Victoria, Vic Health Executives would like a demonstration of a web service to help Vic Health employees and the Victorian public to find health practices within Victoria. The demo enables Victorian users to browser search the locations of medical practices in Google Maps using a postcode and retrieve an example of town information along with the map. You are required to use the specific data provided to you by your lecturer / tutor (there will be a 0 (zero) mark for this section if you don’t use the data provided by your lecturer / tutor). There are three major components in the demo system:

1. Data integration demo. In this demo, there are two data source files provided to you by your Lecturer / Tutor:
– ‘Vic_Health_Care’ contains the information about fictional health practices, and
– ‘Vic_Locations’ contains the information about the location coordinates for towns with health practices.
A Python scrip file with the name ‘data_merger.py’ should be implemented to read these two data files. Using the Python petl framework you are required to output the merged data into a CSV file with the name ‘practice_locations.csv’. Case Study: Victoria Health – Digitizing Health

2. RESTful Web service server demo. In this demo, you are required to build a RESTful Web service which supports a ‘getlocation’ query from the client browser similar to ‘/getlocation?postcode=xxxx’. The server Web Service will return a JSON object with four attributes (practice name, latitude, longitude, town name and state). The data for this JSON object will be retrieved from the ‘practice_locations.csv’ file you created in component 1. The Python Bottle framework is required for this implementation. A Python scrip file with the name ‘practice_locator.py’ will contain this RESTful Web Service Demo.

3. Mashup demo. In this demo, you are required to build a mashup application which accepts a postcode as the input. If a health practice in that suburb can be found, then its location is displayed in Google Map. Otherwise, a default clinic is displayed. A HTML file ‘practice_map.html’ should be implemented. In this file, a text field is provided at the page top to accept user’s input of postcode. In addition, a Submit button will trigger the ‘getlocation’ Web Service to retrieve its corresponding latitude and longitude, and highlight and centre the location in Google map.

In addition to highlighting the positon on the map, a user is able to click on the marker bubble and see an information window containing suburb / town specific information or a link to that information.

Two Very Important Notes:

1. You MUST use and incorporate the specific ‘Vic_Health_Care’ and ‘Vic_Locations’ data files provided to you by your Lecturer / Tutor. There will be a mark of 0 (Zero) awarded for this demo section if your solutions do not use the specific data files provided to you by your Lecturer / Tutor. Case Study: Victoria Health – Digitizing Health

2. For ease of demonstration to Vic Health executives, your code must be self- contained and run easily in PyCharm. In addition to using Standards based HTML and Python, the Python modules ‘petl’, ‘Bottle’ and ‘parser’ are the only additional frameworks you should need. ALL required files must be provided with your submission and should not require any extra installation.

Part 2 – Integration Report

In addition to the above Demo code (60%) you are required to include a Report (40%) Based on Task 1 case study explaining the key concepts for:
– The demo design and implementation (including instructions on running your code).
– Computing and storage infrastructure design, and
– Information integrationView less » Case Study: Victoria Health – Digitizing Health

Advocating for Public Health Policy

Advocating for Public Health Policy

Applied Sciences Homework Help Advocating for Public Health Policy I must be able to read it in 10 minutes….covering all information requested Advocating for Public Health Policy Imagine that you have been chosen to represent a public health advocacy group as they begin a campaign to get legislation related to a health issue passed in your state legislature. You have been tasked with the role of presenting a proposed policy to the legislature and advocating that the legislature vote for the policy. You have been told that you will have 10 minutes to present to the legislature. Your presentation should be informative, but also persuasive.

The legislature will need to make a decision about whether or not to vote for the policy based on your presentation. Your presentation should be structured exactly as if you were “live” in front of the legislature advocating for them to adopt the policy you are proposing. For your assignment, you will need to select a public health topic of interest to you (you are encouraged to choose one related to your academic major or intended field of work) and a public health policy related to addressing the topic. You may select an actual proposed policy or create one that you think would effectively address the topic. Advocating for Public Health Policy Your presentation should provide enough information about the topic and the proposed policy that a reasonably educated legislator should be able to make an informed decision. Be sure to consider the various questions that a legislator might have about the issue and proposed policy, such as long-term costs and benefits, potential effects on business and industry (especially those that support politicians’ campaigns), and how the policy will support the health and productivity of state residents. For this assignment, you should create an approximately 10 minute presentation* that addresses each of the following points: Discuss the public health issue that your proposed policy is intended to address. Questions to consider: Who does this health issue affect? What is the impact of this health issue on the community? Why does this health issue need to be addressed? Explain the proposed public health policy. Questions to consider: Who will be affected by this policy? How will this policy address the health issue? What will change by enacting this policy? Evaluate the impacts of the proposed policy. Questions to consider: What are the costs and benefits of the policy? What are the risks of enacting or not enacting the policy? How will the lives of people who are affected by the health issue change if this policy is enacted? Create an influential presentation that affects voting behaviors of legislators. Questions to consider: What information about this policy would potentially affect the voting behavior of legislators from across the political spectrum (eg. conservative, moderate, liberal, progressive; particularly those who might not support the policy based on political orientation)? What are the most important messages that legislators need to hear about this policy? How would the constituents of the legislators voting for this policy feel about this policy and a legislator who votes for it? What information would a legislator need to “sell” the policy to consitutents who were perhaps not in favor of adopting the policy? *Note: Your presentation can be created using screencast software on your computer, the camera and microphone on your computer or handheld device, or the voice recording functions within a presentation program (like PowerPoint). Please see the announcement posted in Week 2 for more information on how to create effective presentations using one of these methods. The Advocating for Public Health Policy assignment Must be an approximately 10 minute long formal presentation recorded as a video, screencast, or using the voice recording functions in a presentation program. Must include a separate title page with the following: Title of paper Student- name Course name and number Instructor- name Date submitted Must use at least three scholarly sources in addition to the course text. Advocating for Public Health Policy Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Must include a separate reference page that is formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. If the assignment is submitted as a video or screencast, your submission (via Waypoint) should be a document with the title page, a page that lists the URL of the presentation, and a page with your references. If the assignment is submitted as a voice recording within a presentation program, you should upload the slides from your presentation, and ensure that the first slide includes the information with the title page (as listed above) and a last slide that includes the references.View less » Advocating for Public Health Policy

Question #2 500words

Week 3 – Assignment: Application and Analysis: Fear Appeals

You will complete this assignment after reviewing the sample application of the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) in Chapter 5, pg. 100 of the Health Behavior Theory textbook.

Fear appeals, when used correctly, can be used to motivate health behavior change. The EPPM integrates several models toward determining how people respond to fear-based messaging and communications. One of the uses of the EPPM is to aid in the design of fear-based messaging. In producing a successful message, the developer must engage two major ideas—perceived threat and perceived efficacy of the behavior in question.

You will design an informational brochure using the EPPM as your framework. Choose a health behavior and a target population in which the behavior needs to be changed. Determine the proper messaging that would support an effective fear appeal. In developing your brochure and message, remember to address these four constructs: National Institutes of Health’s (NIH)

1. Threat of harm if the message’s recommendations are not followed

2. Threat that is personalized to the target of the message

3. Response efficacy, in which the recommendation given will both eliminate the threat and demonstrate that this elimination is positive

4. Personal efficacy or self-efficacy; the belief that an individual can perform the recommended action. (DiClemente, Salazar, & Crosby, 2012)

It is suggested that you use a publishing application (e.g., Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office Publisher) to develop a tri-fold brochure. Balance your text with graphics while addressing the required elements. Please cite at least two webpages of organizations where the reader can learn more about the health issue. There is no need to include references on the document itself. However, compile your references into a Microsoft Word document.

Submit the brochure as a PDF file to insure your instructor can access it.
