In recent years, hormone replacement therapy has become a controversial issue. When prescribing therapies, advanced practice nurses must weigh the strengths and limitations of the prescribed supplemental hormones. If advanced practice nurses determine that the limitations outweigh the strengths, then they might suggest alternative treatment options such as herbs or other natural remedies, changes in diet, and increase in exercise.

As an advanced practice nurse at a community health clinic, you often treat female (and sometimes male patients) with hormone deficiencies. The nurse administrator is an advanced practice role in nursing, and as such has very distinctive competencies. In addition to basic administrative skills, there are advanced administrative skills that can be acquired in this role:

As you continue to work on your Practicum Change Project, please remember to address each criteria for success.  Each criteria has significant points. 

There are two areas some students struggle with.  One is aligning the change theory to steps of change in the project.  A few students did not indicate an actual change theory in the discussion, so be sure to use a proper theory.  Secondly, the budget is customary to be in dollars.  It is not appropriate to simply say it is included in the budget or there is enough money.  The expenses for the change need to be identified in dollars.

Part I: Observation
