What is your biggest Weakness?

My biggest weakness is that I need to learn to delegate. I am some time unable to delegate an assignment and sometimes I feel overwhelm at work. Sometimes there could be the need to have another coworker to perform a task to accomplish a goal or to care for a patient. For me is really difficult to request assistance.

Describe how you resolved conflict with a co-worker or patient

If problems always arise, I believe that the best way is to address them with respect and professionalism. I think that the best ways to address any problem with a co-worker or a patient is to discuss the problem face to face, don’t gossip the problem, find common ground, and know when to involve a supervisor if needed. Learn From Both The Conflict And The Resolution.

Tell me about yourself

I am a nurse since 2008, I used to work as a home health Nurse until 2014 that I started working at Jackson Health system. I am married, have one son who is turning 15 next month and I have a big family here in USA full of Cuban traditions. I always want to be in the medical field and when I came from Cuba I had the opportunity to work in a doctor’s office. That inspire me to pursuit a nursing carrier which I love it. I think and I believe that I was born to be a nurse.

My goal is to continue growing as a nurse educator or clinical director.

Ethics in Healthcare

In this assignment, you will study the role of ethics in healthcare.Based on your research, respond to one of the following discussion questions.

Discussion Question 1

Read the following article:

Shelton, A., Freeman, B., Fish, A., Bachman, J., & Richardson, L. (2015). American Journal of Critical Care, 24(2), 148-155. doi: 10.4037/ajcc2015983

Ethics guidelines now require that individuals give informed consent to participate in research. Existing ethical guidelines do not help us decide how to seek consent and have allowed managerial experimentation to remain unchecked.

Based on your understanding of the topic and the article, answer the following question:

Do you think that alternative forms of community consent should be actively pursued? Why or why not? How would you feel if your medical records were examined and included in research without your consent based on an illness in the past?

Discussion Question 2

Scenario

Two nurse researchers are interested in studying whether a pain assessment tool for critical care patients is valid and reliable when applied to a group of patients who cannot communicate verbally due to mechanical ventilation. They design a validation study in which randomly selected patients will be assessed using the tool after a painful procedure (tracheal suctioning) and after a non-painful procedure (oral care). If patient responses result in higher scores after the painful procedure than after the non-painful one, then the researchers will conclude that the tool is effective for these patients in differentiating pain responses from responses to nursing procedures in general.

Using the checklist in the text, discuss and draw a conclusion as to whether this study will likely be exempt, expedited, or full review. Explain your rationale.

Write 4–5 pages that explain the following:

Can someone deliver original work for this project due on 4/26/17 for my healthcare class?

Assignment Objectives

Demonstrate the integration and utilization of key concepts and knowledge from prior courses to solve the selected problem

Apply critical thinking and relevant concepts to the final project

All projects should have a comprehensive plan for successful completion. This week, you must provide details about your project that are designed to organize and manage all relevant resources to achieve specific goals and objectives.

Write 4–5 pages that explain the following:

  • Problem statement
  • Measurable goals and objectives
  • Resources required
    • Human
    • Financial
  • A list of the tasks that are required for successfully implementing the project
  • Budget
  • Communication plan
  • Key stakeholders
    • Direct
    • Indirect

Abbreviated Example

  • Board approval: Present the project to the board, including the executive summary. Obtain approval to move forward with requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Resource allocation: Submit requests for proposals to the 2 vendors that are identified. Include the return on investment (ROI) requirement. Meet with the bank representatives regarding financing. Meet with marketing to develop a campaign promoting the new process.
  • Implementation tasks: Schedule employee meetings to share the plan to use new laboratory equipment that will allow a shorter time for obtaining results. Meet with all staff to communicate the plan, and create teams to handle the different components of the implementation. It is necessary to communicate the purpose of the proposed change and highlight the benefits. Create training schedules to allow the nursing staff time to learn the new laboratory process. The receptionists will need to be trained to identify which patients will be using the new laboratory and the standard process.

Signature Assignment: Improving Health Care Delivery

Presentation:

Among various stakeholders, the registered nurse is an advocate for patients, their health and the care delivered to them. There is a need to evaluate the health status of vulnerable populations, to assess nursing’s role in health initiatives, and to find ways that we can help improve health. This presentation enables students to assess the role of organized efforts to influence health care delivery, and the contributions of medical technology, research findings, and societal values on our evolving health care delivery system.

This presentation will examine the role of the nurse as a health professional and leader.

  • Choose a high-risk risk population
  • Address a health care need for this population
  • What resources are provided for this population
  • What are the economic priorities, challenges, and issues for this population
  • What are the major ethical, societal, professional, and legal system-level issues confronting providers, insurers, public policymakers, and organizations regarding the care for this population
  • How could nursing intervene or advocate to improve the health care delivery for this population

This PowerPoint® (Microsoft Office) or Impress® (Open Office) presentation should be a minimum of 20 slides (maximum of 30 slides), including a title, introduction, conclusion and reference slide, with detailed speaker notes and recorded audio comments for all content slides. Use the audio recording feature with the presentation software. Use at least four scholarly sources and make certain to review the module’s Signature Assignment Rubric before starting your presentation. This presentation is worth 400 points for quality content and presentation.

Determine what qualitative research design was used in your selected article and evaluate whether it was the best choice.

Qualitative Research Designs

Qualitative Research Designs

For the past 2 weeks, you have focused on the features and considerations of quantitative research designs. However, quantitative designs are not appropriate for all research questions. Perhaps you are concerned with how patients react when confronted with negative test results, or you wish to study how views on a certain health topic change over time. In each of these cases, the emphasis is more on understanding the thinking and experiences of an individual or group than on numerical measurements. For these types of questions, a qualitative or mixed methods research design is the most appropriate.

For this Discussion, you focus on the different types of qualitative research designs, when they are used, and why they are important.

To prepare:

  • Reflect on the comments made by Dr. Mauk in this week’s media presentation on the value of qualitative research in nursing.
  • Locate the journal Qualitative Health Research in the Sage Premier database in the Walden Library.
  • From this journal, select an article of interest to you that was published within the last 3 years.
  • Review the information on different qualitative research designs in Chapter 21 of your course text.
  • Determine what qualitative research design was used in your selected article and evaluate whether it was the best choice.
  • Consider ethical issues involved in the study and how the researchers addressed them.
  • Think about how using a quantitative design would have affected the type of data gathered.

Post an APA citation for the article that you selected and provide a brief summary of the content and the qualitative research design used. Evaluate the appropriateness of the design, and explain how ethical issues in the study were addressed. Analyze how the study would have been different if a quantitative design had been used.

Create an 8–10-slide PowerPoint presentation (with detailed speaker's notes) of your mobilization plan. It should be targeted toward members of the hospital's administrative staff, nurses, and the physicians who will also participate in this medical mission.

or assmnt 4

Create an 8–10-slide mobilization plan PowerPoint presentation (with detailed speaker’s notes) for a mobilization plan by your health care organization to commit 20 nurses to participate in a 4-month-long multinational effort to treat patients exposed to a highly contagious virus in a hot zone in Africa.

Nursing leaders must incorporate approaches that are inclusive and respectful of all stakeholders in the health care workforce, patient population, and the larger community that is served by the organization. Communication among members of teams, between departments and service lines, within large networks, with strategic business partners, and with patients, families, or support persons requires awareness of various facets of effective communication and cultural competence. A mobilization plan for an international medical mission requires careful planning of organizational structure roles, power distribution, and team member empowerment.

Preparation

Use Internet to help you complete this assessment. For help using PowerPoint, refer to the Microsoft Tutorials and other resources located in the Suggested Resources and left navigation menu of the courseroom.

This assessment is based upon the scenario below. The scenario is very limited in detail; where more detail is needed, incorporate any assumptions you make to flesh out the scenario. It is intended to assess your ability to communicate your approach to a challenge by evaluating issues of organization, leadership, safety, quality improvement, multiculturalism and diversity.

Your approach should be very conceptual and high-level.

Scenario

Your health care organization has recently committed 20 nurses to participate in a 4-month-long multinational effort to treat patients exposed to a highly contagious virus in a “hot zone” in Africa. The director of your organization has asked you, because of your previous medical mission experience, to outline nursing-related plans for preparing for the mobilization and present this information at an upcoming staff meeting.

Deliverable: Mobilization Plan PowerPoint Presentation

Create an 8–10-slide PowerPoint presentation (with detailed speaker’s notes) of your mobilization plan. It should be targeted toward members of the hospital’s administrative staff, nurses, and the physicians who will also participate in this medical mission.

Use bullet points and phrases on the slides.

The narrative, or explanation for each slide, should be in the speaker’s notes section.

The mobilization plan should address the following:

Identify the major stakeholders within the health care system that would be affected by the mobilization plan.

Analyze how the mobilization effort will impact staffing patterns and nursing care at the hospital.

Describe the medical mission team’s organizational structure of the mission team and how power is distributed.

Include one slide of an organizational diagram for the mission.

Describe the roles (in the speaker’s notes).

Assess how the organizational structure empowers team members.

Provide 1–2 examples of how team members will have power.

Identify key actions needed to assure quality of care and safety for mission patients and personnel.

Evaluate potential power issues that may arise when dealing with a multinational contingent.

(Be generic; that is, do not address individual nationalities, races, et cetera.)

Consider interactions with health care personnel from other countries.

Examine potential multicultural and diversity issues that mission personnel may encounter.

Consider that the indigenous population may be hostile to treatment.

Outline possible training requirements to improve cultural competencies of the personnel.

Additional Requirements

Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.

APA formatting: Resources and in-text citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting.

Length: Presentation should be 8–10 slides. Include speaker’s notes on each content slide.

References: Include a minimum of three peer-reviewed resources on the final slide (in APA format).

General formatting: Choose an appropriate theme if using a template.
