NURSING HOMEWORK HELP

Details:

The RN to BSN program at Grand Canyon University meets the requirements for clinical competencies as defined by CCNE and AACN using nontraditional experiences for practicing nurses. These experiences come in the form of direct and indirect care experiences in which licensed nursing students engage in learning within the context of their hospital organization, their specific care discipline, and their local communities.

The learning activity and corresponding assignment in this topic requires students to perform a heritage assessment with families selected by the student from their local community.

Click on http://wps.prenhall.com/wps/media/objects/663/679611/box_6_1.pdf in order to access the “Heritage Assessment Tool.”

Interview three families from different cultures. One family should be from your own culture. Compare the differences in health traditions between these cultures.

Assess the three families using the “Heritage Assessment Tool.” In 1,000-1,500 words discuss the usefulness of applying a heritage assessment to evaluate the needs of families and develop plans for health maintenance, health protection, and health restoration. Include the following:

  1. Perform a heritage assessment on three families. One of these families should be from your own culture.
  2. Complete the “Heritage Assessment Tool” and submit to: – one assessment for each of the three families interviewed. You are not required to include the tool in your LoudCloud submission.
  3. Identify common health traditions based on cultural heritage. Evaluate and discuss how the families subscribe to these traditions and practices. Address health maintenance, health protection, and health restoration as they relate to your assessment.

Nursing Informatics Pioneers

Application 1: Nursing Informatics Pioneers

One of the major drivers in recent health care reform legislation is the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act’s (ARRA) HiTech Incentive. This act, passed in 2009, earmarked $22 billion for the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs), with a goal of 100% adoption in all practice settings by the year 2014. The HiTech Act provides an example of the pivotal role that health information technology plays in the delivery of quality health care services. Yet, health information technology is a relatively new field. This Application Assignment provides an opportunity for you to examine the contributions of pioneers in this arena and consider how their contributions have influenced health informatics and nursing practice today.

To prepare:

  • Visit the AMIA Video Library 1: Nursing Informatics Pioneers webpage listed in the Learning Resources.
  • Review the biographies and video presentations of pioneers who are of interest to you, or may hold a position that you aspire to achieve.
  • Select two nursing informatics pioneers and conduct further research on their contributions.
  • Consider how their contributions have influenced health information technology and nursing practice today.

By Thursday 09/07/17, Write a scholarly 3- to 4-page paper comparing two nursing informatics pioneers in APA format with a minimum of 4 references from the list below which include the level one headings as numbered below:

1)     What are the professional accomplishments of each individual?

2)     How have their contributions influenced nursing practice?

3)     How have their contributions shaped the field of nursing informatics?

4)     What lessons can you take away from their experiences?

5)     What skills or ideas demonstrated by these leaders might you apply to your professional practice?

Develop a report of 10–12 pages detailing how information technology systems can be used to analyze organizational data for a health care organization.

2 SEPARATE 10 PAGE PAPERS WITH CREDIBLE SOURCES

PAPER NUMBER 1 (10 PAGES )7 scholarly academic/professional sources published in the last 5 yrs.

You have been asked by your health care organization to provide a detailed report on the benefits of implementing a new health information technology system to comply with the current mandates. Develop a report of 10–12 pages detailing how information technology systems can be used to analyze organizational data for a health care organization. This should include types of systems where data may be retrieved and how IT and various applications can be used to aggregate and analyze the data to understand issues, identify root causes, and document progress related to implemented changes, patient progress, quality assurance, and compliance. Make sure to address the following questions:

  • With plenty of data stored on computer systems, data should not be a problem, but access to the data and sharing of information may have implications under federal regulations. What precautions might you suggest when handling health care data? Be sure to apply current trends in health care from proven sources and models.
  • Consider the support capabilities of a typical health care operation and where employees may access data of various types related to patient needs. What might be accessed, and what controls may be needed to protect patient data?
  • From a departmental perspective, consider the role of the health information manager (HIM). What qualifications and experience would be needed for your specific health care setting? What functions and role would the HIM have in regard to this organization’s medical records?
  • As technology advances, what compliance issues and regulations do health care managers at this organization need to be on top of? Consider the impact of falling behind the technology curve not only in terms of productivity but regulatory compliance. What role do the Affordable Care and Patient Protection Acts have on the implementation and use of technology and electronic health records (EHRs) at this setting?

PAPER NUMBER 2 (10 PAGES) 7 scholarly academic/professional sources published in the last 5 yrs.

Choose a real health care organization to study. Interview 1 key leader who is involved in the organization’s health care delivery. Based on questions asked and answers given, the report will summarize the questions and answers and then present detailed information evaluating the following:

  • Interdepartmental interaction, communications, team building activities and conflict resolution techniques, ethics and workplace diversity programming, proposed operational changes, and how these changes may impact operations and budgets
