Healthcare professionals provide support throughout the cycle of life, from birth to death. They have an obligation to provide humane and compassionate care to patients while adhering to their specific field’s code of ethics. Sometimes, healthcare professionals are privy to discussions between family members regarding end-of-life issues. In some instances, a healthcare facility may be in charge of providing information about advance directives to patients. Healthcare professionals should calibrate their own moral beliefs to align with their ethical and legal obligations. By studying issues contained within real-life cases, healthcare professionals can come to terms with their beliefs and obligations relative to end-of-life issues. For Final Project II, you will submit a draft of your essay for your Milestone Three assignment, which will be submitted to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. This milestone draft will be submitted in Module Six. The final product will be submitted in Module Eight. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
Analyze bioethical issues faced by various healthcare professionals for their impact on decision making Prompt In this project, you will analyze the Terri Schiavo case through the lens of the bioethical issue(s) related to the case. You will analyze the case to address what the bioethical issue is and what role end-of-life issues, such as self-determination and advanced directives, played in the case. Using your analysis, you will determine how this bioethical issue impacted the decisions made by the healthcare professionals involved in the case. Your essay must address the following critical elements:
 I. Introduction: Describe the provided case, including information on the stakeholders involved, the bioethical issue, and the time period of the incident that occurred.
II. Bioethical Analysis: Analyze the bioethical issue for the role end-of-life issues played in the case. Be sure to use appropriate terminology and support with secondary research.
III. Conclusion: Describe how the bioethical issue influenced the decisions of healthcare professionals involved in the case. Be sure to use specific examples.

Milestone Three: Draft of Final Project II: Bioethics Milestones In Module Six, you will analyze the Terri Schiavo case through the lens of bioethics. You will address what the bioethical issue is and what role end-of-life issues, such as self-determination and advanced directives, played in the case. Using your analysis, you will determine how this bioethical issue impacted the decisions made by the healthcare professionals involved in the case. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone Three Rubric.
Final Submission: Bioethical Short Paper In Module 8, you will submit your final project. It should be a complete, polished artifact containing all of the critical elements of the final product. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. This submission will be graded with the Final Project 2: Bioethics Rubric.

Final Project II Rubric Guidelines for Submission: Your bioethical short paper should be a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document formatted with 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. All citations and references should be formatted according to the most recent APA guidelines.

NURSES’ PERCEPTIONS OF THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS ON WORK AND PATIENT OUTCOMES.

Great post about nursing informatics!  It is fascinating to watch the rate of growth in the area of nursing technology.  You talked about the different specialties in healthcare all working together to get the best outcome for the patient.  Researchers project that nursing informatics will be essential in virtual care delivery and real-time knowledge making by providing information to individualize care in the future (Nagel, Sermeus, & Junger, 2017).  The interconnectedness of healthcare organizations includes continuity of care and promotes well-being.  Information technology has been initiated to improve healthcare quality and provide safe and effective care nationwide (Kossman & Scheidenhelm, 2008).

As healthcare entities, we utilize technology for the majority of our cares.  In the case of an emergency or natural disaster, how do you think this would affect our patient care?  Are we prepared as nurses and physicians to practice without the use of technology?

DO YOU THINK A TOO RAPID GROWTH IN TECHNOLOGIES WILL BRING A BURDEN ON HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?

DO YOU THINK A TOO RAPID GROWTH IN TECHNOLOGIES WILL BRING A BURDEN ON HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?

1.On page 278, the author mentioned that one of the important pressures on health spending arises from new technologies. Although new equipment help to detect illness more accurately, it complicates the procedures and raises health care spendings. The complicated procedures decrease in the effectiveness because of various tests and procedures. Do you think a too rapid growth in technologies will bring a burden on the health care system? Is it necessary for the government to slow down the application of technologies in hospitals sometimes in order to reduce the growth rate of health care spendings?
2.Page 209 discusses the deficit of the social security fund. While the deficit is large, a straightforward increase of one percentage point in the payroll tax rate would entirely erase the 75-year deficit (as calculated at the time of the books publishing). After looking on the internet, I saw that the current U.S. payroll tax is still 6.2% which is the same that it was at the time the book was released. This means this strategy has not been utilized. Why do you think this is? If this isn’t the correct solution, what others might be better?

ROLE OF A PSYCHOLOGY INTERN AT A MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY WORKING UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST.

Case Studies in Assessment
Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read the assigned chapters from the text. It is highly recommended that you review each of the brief Blumenfeld (2012) video clips demonstrating the administration of a mental status examination. These are listed in the recommended resources and may require that you download Quicktime in order to view them. Although not required, these videos show the administration of a mental status exam and may prove helpful in this discussion.
Access the Barnhill (2014) DSM-5 Clinical Cases e-book in the DSM-5 library, and select one of the case studies. The case study you select must be one in which the client could be assessed using one or more of the assessment instruments discussed in this week’s reading.
For this discussion, you will take on the role of a psychology intern at a mental health facility working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. In this role, you will conduct a psychological evaluation of a client referred to you for a second opinion using valid psychological tests and assessment procedures. The case study you select from the textbook will serve as the information provided to you from the professional who previously evaluated the client (e.g., the psychologist or psychiatrist).
In your initial post, begin with a paragraph briefly summarizing the main information about the case you selected. Evaluate and describe the ethical and professional interpretation of any assessment information presented in the case study. Devise an assessment battery for a psychological evaluation that minimally includes a clinical interview, mental status exam, intellectual assessment, observations of the client, and at least two assessment instruments specific to the diagnostic impressions (e.g., attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism spectrum disorder, etc.). The assessment battery must include at least one approach to assessing your client which is different from the assessments previously administered. The assessment plan must be presented as a list of recommended psychological tests and assessment procedures with a brief sentence explaining the purpose of each test or procedure. Following the list of tests and assessment procedures you recommend for your client, compare the assessment instruments that fall within the same categories (e.g., intellectual or achievement), and debate the pros of cons of the instruments and procedures you selected versus the instruments and procedures reported by the referring professional.

Assume the role of a midlevel health care manager at National Home Health Care Organization. Your supervisor has asked that you analyze current data and statistics on life expectancy and mortality rates in the nation as part of a nationwide program that your organization plans to roll out. The program will help regional managers to assist the families of terminally ill patients with planning. A first step in the program is to gather trends related to life expectancy, common causes of death, and mortality rates to help regional mangers identify their target audiences for the program.
Create an executive summary that presents data on trends related to life expectancy, common causes of death, and mortality rates. Conclude by researching and presenting some of the challenges that managers face in meeting the needs of the community related to your findings.
Identify contemporary healthcare management issues involved in death and dying.
