Purpose

The goal of this assignment is to reflect on and describe leadership skills and values that are important to you.

A Leader from Your Past

Think of a leader from your past experience whom you would consider to be successful in their role. This person might be a supervisor, teacher, youth group leader, or coach, for example.

  • A general description of the person – introduce them (who they are, how do you know them, etc.).
  • Using the leadership traits identified earlier in this module, choose two or three leadership traits that made him or her successful in your eyes.
  • How did they demonstrate these leadership traits – give concrete examples.
  • What traits do you possess that might make you a good leader/manager? Or, what traits do you wish to develop? Identify and describe at least two.
