Activity 4.5 – Assignment: Student LPI
Read Leadership: What People Do When They’re Leading on pages W-14 through W-15, then read how to complete and score the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI), pages W-16 through W-17, and finally complete the LPI on pages W-18 – W-21 and recording your Student LPI scores. For the LPI, you are asked to self-rate yourself and then find five other people to rate you. Instead of five people, only get ONE other person, a friend or your spouse, to be the LPI-observer of your actions. After you interpret your scores and compare your scores with the LPI-observer, then complete the Summary and Action-Planning Worksheets, pages W-25 to W-26.
Write a two page paper on what you learned about yourself, the interpretation of your ratings with the LPI-observer scores and what action-planning you will do to meet the leadership challenge.

Write a three page paper discussing the review questions about the case study and apply the review questions to your organization using the writing criteria outlined in earlier writing assignments.

Activity 6.5 – Assignment: Case Study – NASCAR
Write a paper (minimum of two pages) discussing the review questions about the case study using the writing criteria outlined in earlier writing assignments.
· Answer the review questions on page W-113 for Case Study 8, NASCAR’S Racing Teams UPDATE.
Activity 7.5 – Assignment: Case Study – Novo Nordisk
Write a paper on Novo Nordisk culture using the writing criteria outlined in earlier writing assignments.
Read Case Study 14, Novo Nordisk, on page W-123 and answer the following questions. (Do not answer the review questions on page W-124.):
1. What leadership styles dominate Novo Nordisk? What could it learn from other companies? Cite examples to support your opinion.
2. How does the company’s leadership influence its organizational culture, promote its innovation program, and shape its competitive strategy?
3. Describe the company’s philosophy in relation to transformational change, planned and unplanned change, and the strategy they’ve used to create change. How has planned or unplanned change affected their culture?
4. How might Novo Nordisk’s cultural expectations and leadership enhance or limit their success?
Activity 9.5 – Research Paper: Environment
Research Paper
For your Final Research Paper, you will select a well-known company in the aviation community to examine its organizational environment and behavior. Eachweek you will apply what you have learned in the Module of study to the company you selected in Module 5 and discuss how the company has accomplished the concept. The final paper will be an ongoing process until you finalize your paper to submit during Module 9.
The paper will include an introduction of the company and discuss the company’s leadership, communication networks, decision making, negotiations process,organizational change, power, politics, organizational culture and innovation, goals and structure, strategy, technology, and organizational design.The ResearchPaper Rubric will be used to evaluate your submission

· Describe your company’s collaborative work environment, specifically discussing collaboration techniques, interaction between leaders and followers, and supportive communication.
· Research your selected company’s business environment, using the company’s website or periodicals such as Fortune magazine or The Wall Street Journal.
· Explain the company’s decision environment, risk management, and how the organization resolves conflict through the strategic negotiation process.
· Ensure you include this discussion in your final paper. In Modules 6 through 8, you will be assigned a topic to research on your selected company.
The requirements for the Research Paper are the same as the other writing assignments, specifically:
· The body of the paper will consist of approximately 10-12 pages
· double-spaced
· Times New Roman, 12-point font,
· APA format.
